Farm Help
We are seeking farm help at our Certified-Organic, grass-fed livestock and poultry farm. You will get experience working with each animal group including cattle, pigs, poultry, sheep, and goats. An ideal candidate is passionate, knowledgeable, and committed to regenerative farming/ranching and restorative food systems, and must be capable of working independently, making thoughtful decisions throughout their workflow, and regularly multitasking. Animal care expertise and mechanical/farm equipment aptitude are both sought after skills, but the desire to learn also goes a long way.
Mint Creek’s onsite farm team is a small, tight-knit group of 1 to 3 people working each day, and is comprised of staff located nearby or living at the farmhouse onsite, or even commuting from surrounding locations from as far away as Chicago; plus members of our farm family. While we work closely with each other and oftentimes share meals, the nature of the work means spending large swaths of time farming in solitude (other than the animals’ friendly faces). Our team embraces unique approaches to farm management, trying new (or old!) things, and questioning the status quo of how to farm. With limited resources, change is often slow, but with abounding conversations about how to best do so. We seek a balance between finding enjoyment in repetitive farm chores while working collaboratively on improving our animal and land stewardship.
